Data Analyst Intern

Tailwind, a division of Audacious Studios, is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join our team of performance marketers. The Data Analyst works as a bridge between the Business Intelligence  and Digital Media Planning teams at Tailwind. They focus on analysis that drives results and help collect, structure, store and visualize data in a way that speaks to people. 

 

The Main Responsibilities of the Position Include:

    • Collecting, cleaning, transforming, visualizing, and reporting on ongoing advertising campaign performance using Excel, Google Sheets, Google BigQuery, and Google Data Studio
    • Assisting in documenting and improving data processes
    • Performing weekly QA checks on client reports to ensure accuracy and validity
    • Working with the Tailwind media team to analyze and report on digital advertising campaigns
    • Troubleshooting and correcting data inaccuracies and errors
    • Live into the values of Tailwind 

Other Responsibilities may include:

    • Researching new tools
    • Speaking to clients

Technical Skills, Experience, Knowledge and Competencies Required:

  • Experience using Google Sheets and other capabilities within the Google Suite (Slides, Docs and Gmail)
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft Excel Proficiency (Vlookup, Sumif, Pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc) 
  • Statistical knowledge
  • Basic stats required
  • Experimental knowledge (basic)
  • An interest in data/analytics
  • Strong desire and enthusiasm to learn and be a self-starter
  • Comfortable and excited in working in ambiguity
  • Ability and desire to learn and explore new and unfamiliar tools proactively
  • Attention to detail and a strong eye for quality assurance
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple competing projects
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Critical thinking skills; both strategic and analytical

Bonus Points & Relevant Tech Stack

  • Data Visualization experience (Google Data Studio/Tableau/Power BI/ Looker, etc)
  • Basic SQL skills
  • Google BigQuery/Google Cloud analytics experience
  • Google Analytics experience
  • Familiarity of SEM, digital marketing platforms, and technologies including but not limited to; search (paid and organic), display, social media, email…etc.

Required Education

  • High school diploma. Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, data analytics, computer science or related field.
